Fund Administrator
The Roles and Responsibilities of a Fund Administrator

The role of a fund administrator has evolved dramatically over the past thirty years. Initially, fund administrators were only appointed for offshore fund vehicles and domestic fund vehicles in the U.S. were self-administered. This changed in the early 2000’s thanks to several high profile scandals in the finance sector.

Similarly, the services fund administrators provided grew to include middle office, regulatory reporting and even some front office services in addition to the traditional back office fund accounting and investor services. Technology capabilities expanded as well, enabling fund administrators to take on greater responsibility.

At Summit Fund Services, we provide a holistic fund administration offering that takes into consideration both the fund manager’s and investor’s needs.
